FIRE stands for Financial Independence & Retire Early and is an online community aiming to achieve financial freedom by focusing on frugality and the value of time. #FIRE means avoiding unnecessary consumerism and any kinds of dept. It uses passive, long term index investing as strategy to reach financial independence (Robin and Dominguez 2018, p. 48)
