ABSTRACT
In this research project, we investigate how organizations and policy makers can shape tomorrow’s work design and tomorrow’s lifestyle. Specifically, we assess current needs and possible interventions in the following areas: Work design, work-life interaction, and equal opportunities.
PROJECT GOAL
The goal of this project in threefold. First, we investigate how organizations can design jobs, workplaces, and work arrangements that meet the challenge of an increasingly diverse and demanding workforce. Second, we examine how the interaction at the work-life and work-family interfaces can be improved, resulting in mutual benefits. Third, our study will identify ways how employees with diverse backgrounds can gain equal opportunities in employment, job promotion, and payment. The project will yield insight into the perceived need for action and the endorsement of particular interventions in these three core areas.
APPROACH
The empirical part of this project will be based on a representative sample of the population in the state of Bavaria. Based on the results of this project, we will derive recommendations for organizations and policy makers in terms of measures and action plans.
