π Key facts
π‘ Background
In a world where business is reckoning with issues like climate change, racial inequities, and gender bias, the requirements have changed and thus a big transformation in leadership is happening (Hoch et al., 2010). The generation of Baby Boomers was trained in a time of business schools teaching management and not leadership. But, in order to manage diverse people and more complex tasks, new concepts like shared leadership are desperately needed (Gibeau, 2020). Implementing such new approaches can be challenging for both, employees and leaders.
To find out more about which challenges which occur in the transformation process, a study including the perspectives from both leaders in the field and international research is to be conducted. Thus, your work will be divided into the following two parts:
- Part 1: What are current challenges for managers?
- Part 2: How does international leadership research address the challenges?
For this part, an interview with an experienced leader needs to be conducted and evaluated. To identify suitable questions for the interview practice articles should be analyzed before.
For this part, scientific articles should be reviewed to track how challenges developed over time in international leadership research and derive an idea of which challenges are likely to arise in the future.
π¦ΎWho We Are
The Chair for Strategy and Organization is focused on research with impact. This means we do not want to repeat old ideas and base our research solely on the research people did 10 years ago. Instead, we currently research topics that will shape the future. Topics such as Agile Organizations and Digital Disruption, Blockchain Technology, Creativity and Innovation, Digital Transformation and Business Model Innovation, Diversity, Education: Education Technology and Performance Management, HRTech, Leadership, and Teams..
