💡 Background
The topic of stock market participation (equity culture, “Aktienkultur”) has gained relevance in discussions surrounding financial literacy and economic stability. As capital market engagement is seen as a potential tool for enhancing wealth distribution and fostering social inclusion, understanding its broader implications becomes increasingly important. However, despite the growing interest in this area, research remains limited. This Bachelor/Master’s thesis seeks to explore the role of stock market participation in promoting long-term financial security and societal stability, particularly in the context of emerging national financial literacy strategies.
Potential outcomes:
- Structured literature review in the field of equity culture/household finance
- Identification of potential unique data sets
- If you are an international: Insights into the equity culture of your home country
- Think about what you are interested in and what exciting research ideas you have.
