πŸ’‘ Background

If you want to understand the future of an industry look to the startups that aim to disrupt it. Most actors in the VC and entrepreneurial ecosystem still search more or less manually for intersting new startups. We are looking for a way to automate this search and make it real-time.

🦾 Who we are

The Chair for Strategy and Organization is focussed on doing research with impact. This means we do not want to repeat old ideas and base our research solely on the research people did 10 years ago. Instead, we currently research topics that will shape the future. Topics such as Agile Organizations and Digital Disruption, Blockchain Technology, Creativity and Innovation, Digital Transformation and Business Model Innovation, Diversity, Education: Education Technology and Performance Management, HRTech, Leadership and Teams. We are always early in noticing trends, technologies, strategies and organizations that shape the future, which has its ups and downs.

🎯 Goals

  • Understand where information on (new) startups can be found, understand the benefits and limitations of each source
  • Systematically research and identify the possibilities of scraping data from theses sources
  • Analyze how they the data can be integrated in a meaningful way
  • Build a search prototype that is able to identify startups in (real) time
  • Prepare: a) thesis/project study report b) Powerpoint slides on the topic of your thesis/project study c) Infograph that contains most important results
  • Communicate your findings to the world: write articles, blogs, papers where you condense your findings and derive actionable recommendations for industry and public authorities

We would particularly welcome innovative ideas on how to identify startups, e.g. collecting trace data from twitter, crunchbase or other digital sources that talk about new stratups or search through worldwide VC portfolios, e.g. crunchbase, linkedin, etc.

πŸŽ“ Profile

  • Reliable and self-driven
  • Interest in Data Analytics / Startups / Data Analytics / Entrepreneurship /
