💡 Background
In the absence of widely accepted fundamental valuation techniques, the crypto space remains a sentiment driven investment field. Influencers sharing their views on latest crypto market events and providing supposed explanations and outlooks for market movements further contribute to this risky and non-predictable investment environment. The medium on which influencers have a particularly large outreach to their followers is YouTube. Overall, YouTube crypto influencers have a large reach (in total, >25 million subscribers) to introduce viewers to the world of crypto-assets, e.g., by providing education, news or market analyses content. The goal of this thesis / IDP / or project study is to apply VADER-based NLP techniques to measure the emotional contagion which YouTubers have (their titles and transcripts) onto their audience (audience comments). This thesis is specifically targeted towards students with prior experience in natural language processing and particularly VADER as well as good programming skills.

The Chair for Strategy and Organization is focused on research with impact. This means we do not want to repeat old ideas and base our research solely on the research people did 10 years ago. Instead, we currently research topics that will shape the future.
