Here you learn about how to contact, get deals with brands and how to disclose this on your account.
Contact brands
-On your own:
-Contact brands who are already working with influencers (More likely to have an allocated budget, streamlined process in place for managing campaigns)
-If passionate about a smaller independent brand: Can also be a good place to start
-Effective way to get on brandâs radar: Sending a simple email or direct message
-First impressions count: Introducing yourself in a professional and polished way
âAsk about upcoming collaboration opportunities, summarise your experience and audience demographics and provide your media kit for further information. Can also be worthwhile to provide 2 or 3 content ideas for them to consider.
-Alternatively: Sign up to a third-party influencer agency to find campaign opportunities
-Ask yourself how much the brand relationship is worth, consider any non-financial benefits
-Regardless, approach all negotiations professionally
-Provide an itemised breakdown for your set rate, including equipment, your time, and any specific requirements, as well as any relevant justifications (Such as previous campaign statistics like clicks or sales)
-Know influencer payment rate & how much you are willing to trade for any reputational association before you head to the negotiating table
-3rd party platform that connects brands and Influencers: AspireIQ

Disclose Collaboration
-Always clearly disclose your collaboration
-Most countries have a governing body that sets rules for disclosing brand partnerships on social media
-Include everything from being paid and receiving a gift, even if you think your evaluations are unbiased or you werenât specifically asked to review a product
- Place your disclosure so itâs hard to miss (At the beginning of caption, clearly visible text overlay on Instagram Stories)
- Use simple and clear language (âAdâ or âSponsoredâ)
- Use the same language throughout
- Donât assume a platformâs disclosure tool is good enough. Always provide your own disclosure as well
- Only share honest and genuine endorsements

Germany-specific:
-Failure to properly disclose: Fines and issuance of civil claims
-The use of # and @ reference to the companyâs profile is not sufficient to disclose the advertisement
âUse the full terms #werbung, #anzeige at the very beginning of any post that is intended to have an effect in Germany
âFlag advertisement: For example âpaid partnershipâ (Shown in each userâs selected language)

-In case that product only appears but doesnât play the main role: In the beginning âProduktplatzierungâ or âUnterstĂŒtzt durch <Markenname>â
-Always mark affiliate links, advertisment links and discountcodesÂ
