Podcasts are digital voice recordings that allow it to be streamed or downloaded off the internet, to listen to a speaker at a time that is most convenient for a user. The use of podcasts has increased extensively with the advent of web 2.0.
While the emergence of web 2.0 offered Podcasters with the required tools to shape their media content and its consumption as per their individual preferences with regards to content, time and other factors, web 2.0 technologies presented several inherent challenges.
The focus of this research was mainly on identifying key factors that podcasters considered while choosing a platform and how was the expereince of podcasters across these key factors with the current podcast hosting platform. The study adopted a quantitative method for executing this research and statistical data was collected and analyzed.
The understanding of web 3.0 gained from secondary resources to demonstrate how web 3.0 will resolve challenges for podcasters across the most important factors, and then form a conclusion.
With further development of technology and as web 3.0 becomes a reality, podcasting is poised to emerge as something that is increasingly personalized, engaging and easily accessible than it was in the past. Right from technology for voice recognition to an incorporation of blockchain, podcasts with web 3.0 will revolutionize how digital communication occurs in the future.
