Introduction

Optimism was founded in 2019 by Jinglan Wang Karl Floersch and  Kevin Ho. It has its headquarter in New York, United States.

Optimism is an Ethereum-based decentralized infrastructure platform that allows for instant transactions and scalable smart contracts. The company is a public benefit corporation, a for-profit corporation that is obligated to balance the financial interests of our stockholders with the best interests of our community and society.

Optimism is building the critical infrastructure to address the need of scalability. Optimistic Ethereum is an extension to Ethereum that scales both its technology and philosophy. Not only do they enable orders of magnitude more performance, they are also doubling down on Ethereum’s values as a public good, never to be captured by private commercial interests. Ethereum will enable the greatest change in human coordination since the birth of the internet, and Optimism is here to bring it to the masses.
