💡 Background
"If you do not protect your intellectual property proactively and early, you might have to protect it defensively later."
It is the using of new ideas that lead to the making of any new products, services or processes. That's why it is incredibly important to incentivize and protect the development of new ideas. With blockchain technology, there are completely new ways to protect intellectual property - and make its ownership financially attractive. Especially for sensitive assets traditional tools for protecting IP such as patents and trademarks can be too slow - Blockchain based solutions can be more suitable.
To give an example: Copyright owners are using blockchain to protect music files and other copyrighted content. As streaming media becomes the norm, blockchain technology can help safeguard against unauthorized distribution and help copyright owners verify their royalties.
Various startups and companies want to take advantage of this potential. In your thesis, you should identify these companies and analyze their business model, technology, advantages and disadvantages, pain points, etc. Then you should create an app that will allow protecting your IP in the best way possible.

Blockchain: Transforming the registration of IP rights and strengthening the protection of unregistered IP rights
By Anne Rose, Associate and Co-Lead of the Blockchain Group, Mishcon de Reya, London, England Blockchain platforms create a transparent and (arguably) immutable (i.e. unchangeable) chain of information. These characteristics could provide intellectual property (IP) offices with an opportunity to transform the registration of IP rights by making the process more cost effective, faster, and more accurate and secure.
