"Self-sovereign identity (SSI) is a term used to describe the digital movement that recognizes an individual should own and control their identity without the intervening administrative authorities. SSI allows people to interact in the digital world with the same freedom and capacity for trust as they do in the offline world." (Find more information here)

The idea of Self Sovereign Identity is not new - But with the rise of blockchain technology, incredible breakthroughs are possible. Hence, you should analyze this matter in more detail: What are startups in this realm? What business models and business ideas are there? Which technologies are being used? What is the state-of-the-art industry? You should address these and other questions in your thesis. The final goal is to make your results available to the public by creating a landing page that explains Self Sovereign Identity.

The Chair for Strategy and Organization is focused on research with impact. This means we do not want to repeat old ideas and base our research solely on the research people did 10 years ago.
